Spc Deweese

Spc Deweese was a 22-year-old Marine Corps Humvee driver. He served in Iraq for a year as part of a platoon that trained Iraqi police officers. His hobbies included fishing and watching the New York Yankees. He was originally from Putnam County, West Virginia. He loved to work in his yard and was an avid sports fan.

Putnam County

Spc Deweese was born in Putnam County, West Virginia and served in the Marine Corps. He was a Humvee driver and was deployed to Iraq for a year. During that time, he was assigned to a platoon that trained Iraqi police. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and watching the New York Yankees. He was honored with several awards during his service and retired as a Command Sergeant Major.

Steve Deweese, a native of Putnam County, West Virginia, loved the outdoors, fishing, and the New York Yankees. He served in the Marine Corps for 43 years. His was awarded numerous medals and was an honorable discharge. He was also awarded the Legion of Merit.

New York Yankees Baseball

Deweese had been a Marine since he was 17 years old and was a Humvee driver. He enjoyed fishing, yard work, and New York Yankees baseball. His life ended tragically, when he was killed in Iraq after being hit by a roadside bomb. Deweese was a member of the 1st Platoon, which was tasked with training Iraqi police officers.

The roadside bomb he encountered on April 17 killed five members of his unit. He was a Marine Corps veteran, and his unit was a support unit for Schweinfurt’s 1st Battalion. The soldiers were in the area of Coutance at the time of the roadside bomb.

Training Iraqi Police

Spc Deweese, a Marine, was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq. He was only 22 years old and was on a year-long tour of duty when he was killed. He was part of a platoon that was training Iraqi police.

Fishing & Playing Baseball

Deweese had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and also playing baseball. He also loved being on the water. His favorite team was the New York Yankees. He served for 43 years in the Marine Corps. He was also a member of the Vietnam War and also served in the first attack on the U.S. Embassy.

Deweese was 22 years old when he was drafted. He served as a Humvee driver. He served with the 26TH Infantry Regiment in Schweinfurt, Iraq. His was assigned to a platoon that trained Iraqi police officers. Outside of the Marine Corps, he enjoyed fishing and also watching the New York Yankees.

Equipment Logbook

During his training, Spc Deweese learned about basic vehicle maintenance and also repair. The military calls this training “Preventative Maintenance Checks and also Services.” Detailed in the equipment logbook inside each Humvee, the process is known as ‘Fully Mission Capable.’

The Humvee is the vehicle of choice for the Afghan National Army, and also soldiers must know how to operate them safely. For that reason, the Afghan National Army has a program to train its soldiers on how to operate the vehicles. The courses are run by Air Force and also Army combat service support senior mentors at the Kabul Military Training Center. While most ANA soldiers have no experience driving Humvees, they are taught how to handle them safely and efficiently.

Marine Corps

Steve Deweese served in the Marine Corps and was a dedicated member of his unit. He enjoyed yard work and outdoor activities and cheered for the New York Yankees. He was born in West Virginia and graduated from Poca High School. After leaving the Marine Corps, he served in the West Virginia Army National Guard and earned several medals. After 9-11, he wanted to stay in the military and signed up for the Army’s age increase program. He was assigned to a forward-deployed brigade.

Spc Deweese served as a Marine Corps Humvee driver for one year. While in Iraq, he was assigned to a platoon that trained Iraqi police officers. He also enjoyed fishing and the New York Yankees. In retirement, he was a Sargent Major and served in the Marine Corps for 43 years.

Final Words:

After his service, Deweese enjoyed yard work, fishing, and following his New York Yankees. His love of the outdoors inspired him to join the Marine Corps, and he devoted much of his time to these pursuits. Despite his busy schedule, he also made time to spend time with his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and was an avid baseball fan. During his time in Iraq, he drove a Humvee, a light four-wheel drive military vehicle with waterproof electronics here.
